| About Us | The Broadcasting Council is an independent non-profit regulatory body, with public competences and authority in the field of broadcasting activity defined by the Law on Broadcasting Activity (Official Gazzette of RM" No.: 100/2005). The Broadcasting Council, in the course of performance of its competences, ensures the freedom and pluralism of expression, existence of diverse, independent and autonomous media, economic and technological development of broadcasting activity, and protection of the interests of citizens in broadcasting. |

 | |  | | | Strategy for the Development of the Broadcasting in the Republic of Macedonia 2007 – 2012 Adopted | Skopje, 27.11.2007 - The Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Macedonia on 27.11.2007 at a public session has adopted the Strategy for the Development of the Broadcasting in the Republic of Macedonia for the period 2007 – 2012. The Strategy was adopted within the deadline stipulated in the Law. The preparation and the adoption of the Strategy was legal obligation of the Broadcasting Council of Macedonia pursuit to Art.22 of the Law on the Broadcasting Activity.
The preparation process of the Strategy has involved all the competent institutions in the field of broadcasting, electronic communication and information society, as well as non-governmental organizations and other entities in the broadcasting industry. Regarding this process several researches and analyses were conducted by the Council including Media Market and Audience. Along with this process, adoption of all the necessary by laws and completion of the process of transferring previously granted concessions for broadcasting activity with licenses were completed by the Council.
The draft of the Strategy has been in the public consultation process in the period from 3rd of September to 18th October this year.

| Council of Europe Expert Visited the Broadcasting Council | Mr. Dirk Oudenaarden, Head of the Broadcasting and Cable Affairs Section at the Dutch Media Authority, came at a working visit of the Broadcasting council between February 20-23, 2006.
